2010-2012 Contract Negotiations

Posted on 03. Oct, 2009 by Steve Ryan in News

By now, all members should have received your survey in the mail for the upcoming 2010-2012 contract negotiations with the City of Phoenix.

If not, you can pick up an original from the Union Office or let one of your stewards know so we can pick one up for you.  Feel free to attach additional pages if necessary but the original form must be attached.

As noted in the survey’s message, the City is facing continued budget problems and “the next budget year is looking grim”.  Keep this in mind when making your choices. This will potentially affect negotiated wage increases for everyone.

Please review our current M.O.U. carefully, if you have any suggestions to add or to increase any of its benefits, language clarity or new proposals, now is the time to let us know. “Example: Unit III has the lowest deferred comp contribution from the City than any of the other Unit.”

If you have any specific suggestions for your individual City Departments and/or Sections (Fire, Police, NSD, etc) we want to know about these as well. Depending on the amount of union membership in a particular section, the union can also negotiate with respective Department Heads. For specific City Departments or Sections suggestions, Please include your work department and job title with your suggestions along with a detailed explanation of the suggestion and the potential benefit.

If you would like the Union Office to contact you for further explanation, include your name and telephone number. We would be more than happy to explain the process.
